Rare Ming Jiajing Wu Cai vase, 17 cm tall excluding the wooden base. It is masterly decorated with 4 Taoist boys practicing Taoism rituals in elegant egg-blue ground, which was a typical pattern for late Ming period, especially for Jiajing and Wangi periods.
Wucai was first introduced during Ming dynasty Jiajing reign; this kind of delicate Wucai porcelain was definitely from the imperial kiln, and therefore considered the best and most expensive in Wucai category.
The vase is defective, with a serious crack and repair as shown in the last picture. No other damages.
