Made by the F. Winkle and Co., Stoke, England

7 3/4” wide plates called Wren.
The dark bluish-gray transfer displays a tiny wren perched on a thorny raspberry leafy bush accented
with shiny gold speckles here and there and a gold band on the scalloped rim.

A fine example of the English transferware into Aesthetic period love of nature.
In great condition with no cracks or chips.
A wonderful set for a bird lover, birder, or ornithologist. or a Good Dessert Set

8 Piece Set 19th century Aesthetic plate in the 'Wren' pattern by F. Winkle & Co. of the Colonial Pottery in Stoke, Staffordshire, England.
This pattern was registered in 1890.
Diameter of plates & compotes is 7 3/4 inches
Height of compotes is 2 inches
