Baeza was born in Los Angeles and is a veteran of World War II, serving in the South Pacific Islands. He is an alumnus of the Otis Institute of Art, majoring in Sculpture. He worked as a 3D animator in Hollywood and as a doll and toy designer for all the major toy companies for forty-one years while doing fine art at the same time. His first major public artwork in bronze was in 1962, and he has continued to create bronze sculptures of various sizes. Baeza's signature public art work is his bronze sculpture near the entrance to the Pico Rivera City Hall. This is a replica, 5 of 30 of that piece.
