DiAnna Pfaff-Martin founded two animal organizations in Orange County. Both are successful because of feature stories/articles and a successful web site and that promotes animals in need of finding new homes.
In 1996 DiAnna began writing for a Home Owners Association publication and expanded to publishing the twelve page city wide version of the “Community Animal Report” which circulated throughout Newport Beach 1998 – 1999 and was walked door to door by DiAnna and local children.
The popularity of the “CAN Report” and success in placing dogs and cats into new homes led DiAnna to be invited to hold weekend public adoption events at Newport Beach’s Exclusive Fashion Island shopping center in January 2000. Currently, animals represented by her network are seen on the weekends at the shopping center in Newport Beach from 12 noon - 4:00 pm, sponsored by Russo's Pet Experience.
Now with the economy being strained and animal adoptions slowing in Orange County DiAnna has planned to have better communication with the “pet-loving” community to let them know the needs of local animals thereby increasing adoptions and funding Community Animal Network which raises funds for the vet medical rescue of abandoned and at risk animals that need new to find new homes.

Duties & Responsibilities:
-Initiates stories independently and pursues story ideas assigned by the assistant editor or editor
-Identify and track the major and emerging industry players and develop an understanding of the issues most important to the industry and the newsletter's readers
-Gather and verify factual information regarding story through interview and research
-Organize material, determine angle and emphasis, and write story according to prescribed editorial style and format standards
-Copy edit and layout of newsletters within prescribed format
-Work closely with other reporters and an assistant editor or editor in creating a comprehensive report on upwards of 20 most significat players, events, trends and developments during the one or two week period covered by a newsletter
-Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
-Entry-level reporting experience on a daily or weekly publication
