Windows XP immediately recognizes this peripheral as a USB floppy disk drive, even in a NON-IBM laptop. Retail for these is $40-$50 each! These drives are extremely useful if you need to put older software on a more recent system, as floppy drives are no longer a part of most of the newest computer configurations. These are also useful for students who have to submit copies of their essays online and in disk format!
