Under the direct supervision of the Director, Undergraduate Admissions, and the general direction of the ASSIST Executive Management Oversight Committee (EMOC) the ASSIST Manager is responsible for a wide variety of technical, project management, and consensus-building activities pertaining to the development, deployment, and on-going support of Articulation System Supporting Inter-institutional Student Transfer (ASSIST). Major duties include technology project planning and management, supervision of application systems development staff, guidance of technical design and issues resolution, oversight and coordination of the ASSIST site functional or business staff.

JOB REQUIREMENTS
This position requires a wide range of management and information technology skills. Proven (8-10 years) experience leading application system development projects from inception through development, testing, deployment and beyond, and managing staff resources.
Thorough knowledge of application software and development processes as demonstrated by accurately estimating project timelines, effectively managing all resources and regularly completing projects within the estimated time and budget.
Ability to recommend and develop technologies which provide the foundation for applications that satisfy business needs, are easy to use and maintain, contribute to data integrity, are efficient, and are sustainable, i.e. will last for many years.
Working knowledge of current technological directions in the areas of database design, web applications, middleware, and programming scripting languages. Working knowledge of a range of major technology projects: web services, application servers, UNIX, DB2, Perl, Java, Java development environment, and Windows operating systems.
Ability to perform complex analysis and work with a substantial level of detail while at the same time maintaining a broad strategic view.
A customer service orientation. Ability to communicate effectively and productively with users and management in both oral and written form. Ability to lead inter-segmental groups to consensus.
Supervisory and management experience that includes managing and motivating staff, customers, and vendors in an environment with concurrent tasks, changing priorities and resources utilizing work and project plans to meet deadlines.
Excellent interpersonal skills as demonstrated by the ability to interact with others in a consistently positive manner, exercising discretion and tact.
