Okay, So we are PARADISE IN EXILE. We are a hardcore meta/hard rock band. To be honest I'm not quite sure how to catagorize our sound. All I can say is that we make Heavy music, have some influence in funk, and our music is very dynamic. We are composed of a drummer, guitarist (me), and bassist, ages 17-18, and we all know our instruments very well. We have an established set of original songs (about eight total) and want to start gigging asap. As far as a singer goes, we want someone whose vocals range as much as our sound does. So here's the deal, I'm twenty-years-old looking to either join an already existing band as a second vocalist, replace vocals for a band who lost their vocalist, or just flat out start an entire new project. I've never personally been in a band but everyone always tells me I could. I've had plenty of friends come at me and we'd set some shit up but it was never really official, and when it went down no one ever fell through with it. Not only that all the homies that come at me that want to start a band never want it to be a "serious band", which is exactly what I want. The only time anyone's ever told me I sound like someone from another band is the time my friend told me I sounded like the singer from Impending Doom. I can honestly say that I think my vocals range from all over the place, however I prefer lows. But I can always work on my highs. As far as the music that i'm interested in working with, I'm not a positive person, I want to make music that's (I know you've heard this one before) like nothing you've ever heard. I want it to be dark, fast, really fast, heavy, heavy as fuck, melodic, and extremely angry all at the same time. I don't want to make music that puts people in good moods and warms their hearts, I want to piss people off and disgust the shit out of them. Our Band: We�ve been together for years now and already have 7 songs composed. We are all 21 and professional musicians working for a teaching academy. When people ask about our sound we simply say rock n roll. The drummer has been brought up on punk and metal, the bassist on hip hop and funk, and the guitarist studies jazz, classical and blues. So our sound floats between fat grooves and fast paced rock. Our dream is to revive rock n roll to the days when gods walked the earth. Our influences are anyone who was creative and made a dent in this world, ranging from Jimi to Sabbath to Zappa to Miles. We�re looking to learn from them and reapply it in a modern way. The only thing holding us back is a singer.

What we need from you:
-passion: Most important thing. Should love music as much as we do. Should whip a crowd up in a frenzy, and have a noticeable soul ready to paint through the medium of music. Should be able to put music before absolutely everything: drugs money women etc. Should be willing to sacrifice for the band.

-Skill: Should obviously be a good musician and be able to hang. Were in no way conceited, but we know what we have. Most specifically we are looking for a singer with his own style that could contrast with our band. We don�t care about the details really; well know it when we hear it. Skill set must include: the ability to write interesting unique melodies and lyrics, stage presence, and have a solid concept of art, self expression and the spirit of rock and roll. Vocals skill should be present. Were looking for the captain of our ship.

-Dedication: We have been through 3 singers now, all of which have left because they couldn�t hang. The first missed practice, the second couldn�t keep up and the last fit perfectly�but he�s leaving to college. Were bummed but we feel this is our chance to grow and find a better one. This ones quite easy, its your band also, take the initiative and love it as much as we do.

So if you�ve made it down to here and have been able to stomach our bravado understand something, we are 3 musicians who love music and are pissed because we�ve been held back by our 4th member. We have connections through our work, created material and a fan base but cannot take off because we are missing a leader. So this is to weed out the fakes. Looking for a talented, versatile, open-minded Bass Player with the ability to improvise and bring the funk. Mission Statement:

Hey there,
My name is Greg and I specialize in guitar, bass, composition, ear training, music theory, and song writing. I am a Graduate from the Berklee College of music with a bachelor in orchestral production and composition for film. I have over 13 years of experience on bass, guitar, and voice, and have studied under such names as Joe Stump, and Eric Johnson. I also have lots of experience touring and recording as both the artist and the engineer, and fully capable of preparing students for that highly anticipated audition, tour or recording date.
Guitarists and Bass players from beginning to advanced rest assure I will take you as far as you are willing to go and cater each lesson plan specifically to the needs and wants of each player individually. I aim to strengthen your weaknesses by adhering to your strengths with a strong emphasis on theory within the player’s repertoire.
Remember, although it may, at sometimes, be tedious to grasp, the concepts of theory will only strengthen your arsenal... it is just as important that a player knows what to and when to do what they do, as well as why! I use my own handouts or help you with yours....
Stylistically, as a guitar player I cater to rock, metal and neo-classical... you, the student, will choose what to learn, and I the teacher will gladly seek out the theory behind it... and present it as its applicable nature and show you the techniques in which the lesson may be improved upon.
All students’ start with and evaluation of each students desire and needs... Ideally beginning students will learn the notes on the neck, open chords and pentatonic, major and minor scales... again I can't stress this enough! This will be fun! Each scale or progression will be accompanied, by a modern day example of the students’ choice.
Intermediate students will learn more advanced progressions, open voicing and much more complex scales, modes, and the theory behind modulations and relative key changes.
Advanced students will learn the art of inversion of chords and scales, harmonizing, arpeggios, regional and ethnic scales... and much more...
Now through all these steps reading will be necessary, however lets face it! With about 9 places to play any given note on guitar or bass... it’s the shapes that matter when fingering any scale, mode, or arpeggio. My handouts will show you proper fingering along the way in order to minimize the distance of motion, ultimately allowing the player to move about the neck with ease and grace, without any of that unneeded effort.
Also, Performance techniques will also be demonstrated (if desired). Once the techniques are mastered... lets give ‘em some flash bang at the show... string skipping, speed picking, sweet picking, over and underhand techniques, one two three and four finger tapping... etc
Don't forget I'm a player too!
Ear training, composition, music theory, and song writing students, fear not for I have not forgotten you! This is where I really developed as a player and songwriter. If you can't sing it, can you play it? If you can't write it, how will you communicate it? If you don't understand it, how will you intend to demonstrate it? These are the backbones to mastering any instrument...
I have years of experience writing and conducting for orchestras and big bands, teaching and tutoring the dreaded art of ear training. Whether you just need help with your harmony 1 homework, preparing for your sight singing exam, eluding that impossible stage-fright, just plane stuck in the middle of a writers block, or auditioning your piece for the London Philharmonic.... I can help.
In addition to the above I am also more than proficient in Reason and Digital Performer, Finale, Photoshop, and many of the artistic programs out there. So should you need help with the image thing for your band or learning Finale to save your pencils erasers, please do not hesitate to inquire...
