This group will be modeled after Ben Franklin's Junto. Directly from the wikipedia page (because they say it best): its purpose was to debate questions of morals, politics, and natural philosophy (science), and to exchange knowledge of business affairs. The members of the Junto were drawn from diverse occupations and backgrounds, but they all shared a spirit of inquiry and a desire to improve themselves, their community, and to help others.

It is a club of mutual improvement, and the rules are copied straight from Franklin. Discussions are to be conducted in the sincere spirit of inquiry after truth, without fondness for dispute or desire of victory; and to prevent warmth, all expressions of positiveness in opinions, or direct contradiction, were after some time made illegal.

I decided to form this group for two reasons. First, I am a great fan of Ben Franklin. I learned a lot from him, and he is a model for my life. Second, it just generally sounded like a good idea.

The purpose of this group is to become more awesome. It is a modest goal, and one that I feel we can achieve.

I just moved here from Sacramento where I played on several co ed indoor teams for 10 years and haven't been successful at plugging into any indoor teams around here. I do play outdoor co ed on Monday nights so I'd like to ideally add to an indoor team close by on nights other than that. I have played at a competitive/semi-pro/pro level all of my life so it's challenging for me to play on recreational teams with little to no experience. I played in the Bundesliga in Germany in 2001, the WPSL for 8 years as well as D1 soccer and I'm 31 years old now so I've still got a lot of life in me. Hi I'm a student at Orange Coast College that will be shooting my short video (film) 11/12-11/16. This is my final for this class. It's a five minute short film titled "Release" that involves two 20 somethings trying to figure out their relationship. I'm looking for a few crew members who are interested in working for credit. As its a school project and I cannot pay you. However you will get credit for helping and hopefully a copy of the DVD. This short may be submitted to the Newport Beach Film Festival and/or OCC Film Festival if it chosen. Here's what crew I'm looking for:

I could use anything really, but I really need a Boom operator. Also I'd love a DP or Cinematographer. However the DP/Cinematographer should have a little experience and be able to follow technicality and understand the 180 rule. As this video will be graded based not only on entertainment but more importantly, technical criteria.

Also please try to keep all four days open as I'm still working on the shooting dates. Please email me with your crew position preference and experience if any.

Hi I am a film student at Orange Coast College and am looking for some actors to work for free (credit) for a short video (film), title "Release" for my video workshop class. It's a 5 page fiction romantic drama. So again I cannot pay you, but I will give you credit, and hopefully a copy of the dvd. There's a chance it could be submitted to the Newport Film Festival and the OCC Film Festival if it is chosen. Experience is preferred, but not necessary. Here's what I'm looking for:

James: Male, Mid 20's, 5'8" or taller, Think Johnathan Jackson type (From Tuck Everlasting)
Alexis: Female, Mid 20's, 5'2" or taller brown or dark hair (Think Marla Sokoloff type)
Mickie: Female,16 years old. Looking for eighteen to play younger or 16 year old with parents permission. (AnnaSophia Robb type)
All will be asked to sign a model release form, and the under 18, you're parents MUST sign a model release for along with you. If you do not wish to sign a model release form, do not submit for this movie.

Basically the acting style I'm looking for is subtle drama. No over-the-top. The comedic relief is Mickie, but she must be witty and subtle.
The location(s) are TBD. Dates are still being finalized but should be 2-4 days between 11/12 thru 11/16. Please be availabe ALL 4 days. Also if you can be availble the following week for any reshoots that would be ideal.

For over 72 years, the RECOVERY INTERNATIONAL Method has proven its effectiveness in helping people suffering from long term anxiety, depression, uncontrolled anger, obsessions, etc., take control of their lives. People learn more empowering ways of dealing with their life situations, replacing the habits that stir up undesirable emotional states with more thoughtful responses that allow better life choices. Not only do they gain greater emotional control, they find that they enhance their personal well-being, improve their personal relationships and function at a higher level.

THE FOUR STEP RECOVERY INTERNTIONAL METHOD

When you attend a Recovery International meeting, you will hear people share their recent experiences, everyday events that upset them. It could be a very high telephone bill, upsetting treatment by some bureaucracy, or something that sounded like a snide remark� or a million other everyday things. We practice on these everyday events to change our thinking patterns.

Step 1: The person briefly describes the situation to the point where he/she summarizes �And then I worked myself up.�

Step 2: The person then reports the symptoms he/she felt. Here are some examples: �a surge of energy, --a sinking feeling, --a disturbance in breathing, --tension in the neck and shoulders, --a knot in the stomach, --dizziness, --a faster heart rate, --sweating, etc.

And also the thoughts and impulses��this person is a jerk.� �This is a stupid way to run a business.� �I feel absolutely powerless here . . . I don�t know what to do,� �This person does not respect me,� �I wanted to punch him in the face,� etc.

Step 3: We now employ the basic commonsense concepts that help us put the situation in perspective. Instead of buying into the signals of danger that our bodies may be sending�telling us that somehow what has happened to us is a real threat to our safety, dignity, self-importance--we talk back to our symptoms. And we do this by employing commonsense references (RI tools*) to check the reality of our perceptions.

And generally, as a result of talking back to ourselves, we are able to stop the working up process, and we calm ourselves. And in this process, we are not only calming ourselves in this situation, but we are also establishing new patterns of behavior and in fact, we are retraining our nervous systems.

Step 4: We compare how we would have handled this particular kind of situation in former days to how we handled it now. And people who have had several meetings behind them, normally report a substantial improvement. Generally, they will note, that their symptoms were less intense and shorter lived.

It is important that we acknowledge our efforts and our improvement.

Over time, if you continue to attend RI meetings, you will see dramatic changes in your fellow practitioners, as they build their self confidence and become more adept in handling the difficulties in their lives, and as they learn to avoid the traps that have lead to miserable emotional consequences in the past.

And of course, with the application of the RI Method, you too will most likely report that your life has become easier�and how much more adept you have become at handling difficult situations, exercising so much more self-control than before, how personal relationships have improved, etc.

This is a 13-week support group for those who have lost a child, a spouse, or a close relative. We are using the Griefshare DVD series, which is designed to help the grieving person recover from the deep hurt of loss. The sessions are open and this program is a series of separate lessons on gnet, which allows a person to join at anytime in the 13-week period. There is no fee. This is simply support and understanding for those who need it.

The number of children with Autism has increased from 1 in every10,000 children to 1 in every 150.
There are no adequate explanations as to why.
As an Applied Behavior Analyst and licensed Mental Health Counselor I have seen the importance of early diagnosis as well as early intervention.
ABA alone is not enough, and the best care happens if you can have many hours of ABA tranining for younger children.
This does not mean that people who are older cannot get help. What it does mean is that various other treatments must be given.
If your child has been diagnosed or you have a concern, get help as soon as possible.
I am a NYS Licensed Mental Health Counselor, and have worked as an Applied Behavior Analyst, Qualified Mental Health Professional, and Clinician for many years. (License number 18 002022).
I have worked at the Anderson School, Devereux Foundation, Astor Home for Children as well as other facilities that helped children diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder.
I believe in an approach that incorporates extensive ABA applications as well as empathic and individualized care including treatments that are outside of the ABA spectrum alone such as humanistic therapies, supplements and safe alternative treatments.
We are involved with many aspects of the child's care, such as being a liaison among all modalities, family support, and also interacting with schools and various other agencies.

Hello everyone! I am trying to put together a motivational support group. I had one last week and absolutely nobody showed up, but since it is a motivational group I refuse to get discouraged and I will keep trucking foward.
Our Brains are limited because we are scared that we will never achieve this so we lower our expectations. When you lower your expectations you= lower your hope= when you lower your hope=you lower your energy= when you lower your energy= you lower selfteem= and when you lower self esteem= you lower your hope= you stop Dreaming = and when you stop Dreaming= Life Sucks

We stop dreaming because we are afraid we will never reach our dreams. I dreamed of being a professional volleyball player, actor, write a movie script, and an Author of a Book. Knowing that the odds are very against me and I am setting myself up for disappointment and rejection it is easier take those dreams and bury them under a pile of anti dreaming dirt. The irony is when you stop dreaming you stop living. As I write these first few paragraphs I feel so alive more than I have in years. The only problem is what if we don�t achieve anything from trying our dream? Well according to all the books I have read I will be letting off a �Happy Vibe� that will attract many new opportunities and people that usually keep 100 feet from me.

Do you find that every time you face that particular aggravation or frustration in your life�that person or situation that pushes your buttons--do you just automatically react, perhaps with anger, frustration, disgust, confusion, low self-esteem, hurt feelings, etc.

It is possible that you are �wired� to do that. That you have established strong synaptic connections within your brain and body, and when that particular stimulus happens, you react in that old predictable way.

There is a way to break those established synaptic connections that bring on those distressing emotional feelings. Those synaptic patterns can be changed� but it takes persistence and practice.

B-MEN: Beach Men Enjoying Naturism would like to invite all men, age 18 or older, to join us for social events for guys - only in our group, our events are usually nude.

We're a non-sexual club, open to all gay, bi, or straight men who like to let their hair down - all over!

The only thing we do differently from other social groups is that we're a naturist/nudist club, so we usually get naked at our events - But it's no more sexual than a locker room at your local gym.

Periodically we hold pool parties, Jacuzzi soaks, massage trades, movie nights, game nights, and lots of other fun events - Usually we meet 2-3 times per month.

Most of our events are at members private homes, so you won't know the exact address of the place until after you RSVP for the event, as we protect our members' privacy.

We've also held events at other locations, such as a nudist/naturist men's hotel in Palm Springs, a nudist/naturist resort near San Diego called DeAnza Springs, nude beaches like San Onofre, and more.

No male 18 or older is turned away - it doesn't matter if you're fat, skinny, tall, short, have large or small body parts, or are somewhere in-between, you're welcome with us!

If you're shy, no problem - talk to us and we'll help you though it and give you a little time to adjust. Otherwise, expect to get naked soon after arrival.

Wellness Evaluations are a core responsibility on your clients and creating a custom program of nutrition to reach their personal priority and goals.

Weekly Nutritional Challenges based on inches and total pounds lost create a fun and supportive environment to keep your clients motivated on their way to reaching the health and fitness goals that you as a TEAM have created. This currently is on Wednesday nights, however due to popularity and client growth as the climate has changed in peoples mind sets to take charge of there own lifestyle and nutrition. We are creating a team of individuals of integrity and focus that will participate in weekly on going trainings and attending Nutritional Challenges with your clients. A few hours a week in office for continued training and team building are all that is required.
We are seeking professionals that have the ability and focus to create their own schedules as this is the key element provided to your clients.

The character of the Wellness Coach we seek exhibits qualities such as:
- Truly focused with a desire to assist clients to achieve and help them reach there goals
- Works independently with a motivational character
- Participates in on-going training in a TEAM environment
- Has an entrepreneurial personality a strives for success
- People oriented with a friendly personality

Previous nutritional or physical training experience is not required
Should you desire to improve your physical condition, we are are here to offer you a solid foundation while we are training you to be a Nutritional Coach and motivate your clients with you personal testimonial.

Part time coaches work an average of 5-15 hours per week and earn $500-$2,500 per month based on the number of clients you maintain.
The Health and Wellness industry is expanding rapidly as peiple are making a conscious lifestyle choice and are taking the steps to attain health through a solid nutritional foundation.
