Automation Engineer

In order to further reduce cost of the Amonix High Concentration Photovoltaic system, Amonix is planning to automate many of the manufacturing processes. Some work has begun with an automation development company on one of these processes. One of the major roles of the automation engineer will be to supervise this process. You will review the process requirements and the automation company proposal. You will be responsible for following the development of the automation equipment to ensure that it will meet the requirements and schedule. You will be responsible for working with the automation company to coordinate installation of the automation equipment in the manufacturing factory. This will involve both the automation company and Amonix�s Facility Manager. Before the equipment is installed, you will be responsible for creating an acceptance test plan. Once the equipment is installed, you will work with the automation company to check-out the manufacturing process. When the automation equipment is operational, you will conduct the acceptance test. Working with the automation company, you will prepare an operating and maintenance manual. You will then train the personnel in the operation and maintenance of the equipment.
Other manufacturing processes will be identified for automation. The Automation Engineer will be responsible for preparing the specification and determine whether to subcontract out the development of the automation equipment or to develop the automated process in-house. In either case, you will be responsible for the development, installation, maintenance, and operation of the equipment. When problems occur with the equipment, you will be responsible for seeing the equipment gets repaired. You will also be responsible to identify key spare parts to have in inventory.
The Automation Engineer needs to have had some experience in the design of automation equipment. Since the type of equipment employed in our factory will involve mechanical, optical, computing/software, it would be helpful if you had some of this experience.

The Plant Engineer will plan, direct, and coordinate activities for plant operations related but not limited to design, construction, modifications, and systems (electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic) and maintenance of equipment and machinery. Assist Operations Manager in the day to day handling of technical and operational issues.

The candidate for the position must have BS Engineering Degree or equivalent experience in plant engineering preferably in a heavy industry. Duties and Responsibilities:

Provide technical leadership to designers and drafters.
